How to calculate the number of days

The easiest way to find out the number of days between 2 dates is by using a spreadsheet program. Refer to the screenshot below:

 

Input the 2 dates in 2 separate cells. In the above example, we want to find out the number of days between 11/06/1973 and 18/07/2007. Just do a formula, date 2 minus date 1 (e.g. =C2-B2). Make sure the result cell (e.g. cell D2), is formatted as “Number”. Cell format can be found by selecting “Format > Cells” in MS Excel. Example is as below:

If you do not have MS Excel, you can use the free Google Docs & Spreadsheets. Here is the screenshot:

There you go. And the result is actually 12,455 days…. that’s my age actually.
